Welcome to the 2019 New Year edition of Home’Ward Bound, our exclusive monthly real estate blog!
Every year we look forward to setting our business and personal goals right out of the gate on January 1st, and this year makes no difference in that time honoured tradition. With all of our available tools and resources, the co-operation of our colleagues, the endorsement of our clients, and the support of our family and friends, 2019 is sure to be another successful year in real estate, perhaps even our best yet in serving homebuyers and sellers in Durham Region. We can say that because we know how much our business is growing year over year, due to our amazing relationships with people like you. We are so proud to offer an exemplary and comprehensive service platform to the wonderful families that we have the privilege of helping, and equally proud of the business that we receive as a result of doing the very best job we can do. The Season of Magic
The month of December is filled with our favourite things – the sights, smells, tastes and sounds of Christmas! We’ve included a host of events and things to do this holiday season, and our hope is that you will build some unique traditions of your own this year and make some fabulous memories while doing so. The Canadian fruits and vegetables for the month of December are squash, turnip, mandarins and tangerines, but we believe homemade shortbread and hot cocoa may trump that list! ‘Tis the season!
Surely there is no other time of year when the human heart is more open, grateful, generous and humbled by the interaction of others, nor is there a better time to acknowledge that impact that others have had on us. So with that, we simply say, Thank you.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve. It is our life’s purpose and sole ambition.
Thank you for gifting us with your trust. It is the greatest endorsemen ...

November: Time to Remember, Lest We Forget!
November may be a dreary month, but we Durham Region residents more than make up for that by cramming the 11th month of the year full of amazing community festivities! We’ve included a huge array of family friendly local events that you can take part in this month to get you in that holiday spirit! From Uxbridge to Newtonville, our municipalities, business associations and community service groups work together to put on wonderful celebrations, occasions and events, making our region a popular destination for tourists, as well as a fabulous place to live, work and play. It’s just one of the many reasons why we are so proud to call the Durham Region our home and our place of business, and why we endorse our community event calendar so heartily.
In economic news, the story is a cautiously optimistic one. A recent study by the Conference Board of Canada compared 16 Canadian municipalities, one of which ...

Fall is for Family
Autumn is arguably filled with some of the most spectacular natural phenomenon that Mother Nature ever created, and in our area, we are fortunate to experience the full spectrum of the season, with colours, temperatures and even aromas that beckon you outside to embrace all of fall’s splendor.
October is the very heart of the fall season, with fairs, festivals and tours to enjoy, two fabulous holidays to celebrate and enough sporting events to satisfy even the most die-hard enthusiast. Fun Fact: October is also home to two meteor showers: the Draconid October 9 and the Orionid October 21-22. The Canadian fruit and vegetable picks of the month are beets, Brussels sprouts, leeks, potato, spinach, turnip, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, squash and of course, pumpkin! Yes, it is harvest time in Canada!
And speaking of harvest, the local Durham Region real estate market is showing its own version of what we consider to be harvest timing. Consumer ...

September has always been one of our favourite times of the year. There is something special about the crackle of fall in the air, the glorious changing colour of the leaves, and while the days are still warm, the evenings are pleasantly cooler. Apple season is in full gear locally, and we encourage you to spend some quality family time on a beautiful September day visiting one of our many wonderful apple orchards and pick yourself some of nature’s finest offerings. You’ll be glad you did! The Canadian Fruits and Vegetables for the month of September are: apples, grapes, pears, eggplant, green peppers and tomatoes.
September of course is most famous for the start of something fresh and new each year: the academic school year. Whether your children are heading off to pre-school or university, it’s the time of year for pencils and backpacks, binders and calculators, and of course, a whole new wardrobe! Because it can be such an expe ...
